We decided to "grow our own" in 2016 instead
of purchasing transplants.

Stephanie and Jon prepped the seed starting flats with wicking mats, seed-starting soil mix in new
trays, support flat, and humidity domes.  We have planted seeds for celery, cabbage, and parsley.

The flats are placed on heating mats and under florescent lights (about 6" up),
and on a table that has reflective material on the sides and back.
The mats will be turned off when the seeds have germinated.

We have a new cold frame that we will use when the plants are ready to go outside,
and a new poly greenhouse at the farm to let them grow until they are ready to be
put into the ground.

The Southfield Parks and Garden Club is a non-profit charitable public service organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Donations are tax deductible.  We are registered and licensed with the Michigan Attorney General (MICS/CT 36233).
